A sibling DNA test is a type of DNA relationship test that determines whether two people share one or both biological parents. Full siblings share approximately 50% of their DNA, while half siblings share roughly 25%. The lab compares genetic markers between the two individuals and calculates a statistical likelihood of a sibling relationship. Sibling tests are commonly used when the alleged father is unavailable for direct testing, making a comparison between potential siblings the next best option. These tests are more complex than paternity tests and may produce a wider range of statistical outcomes. US Diagnostics Center offers both full-sibling and half-sibling home test kits.
